Variation of textures with the Sierpinski triangle

It's interesting to see what happens with the Sierpinski triangle when we vary the scale and the depth of levels. For me that I'm interested on urban morphology, the results are intriguing, I can also see each group of four triangles as the urban tissue of blocks, being the dark holes as parks.

For example, this texture was applied to 4 blocks in the Barrio de la Boca, Buenos Aires

Nido de reptiles. Reptiles nest

They are reptiles inside a tunnel, somewhere in a green landscape, hidden, sliding through the light, maybe looking for somebody or something to trap. This tunnel has no beginning, not end, but the right side is slightly lighter, anticipating an exit.

The death of dinosaurs. La muerte de los dinosaurios

Just many dinosaurs intertwined in desperation.
¨In the first few hours after a giant asteroid crashed into the coast of Mexico nearly 65 million years ago, the Earth's atmosphere became so hot that it quickly incinerated any unprotected life on land, according to a new report by a team of American geophysicists and geologists.
The report, which appears in the May-June issue of the Bulletin of the Geological Society of America, contradicts the widely accepted theory that the dinosaurs died out over a period of months or years after the asteroid impact at Chicxulub, Mexico. Under that theory, the asteroid impact would have thrown enough dust into the atmosphere to block out the sun, leading to a cold, dark winter that directly reduced the amount of plant life on Earth.
Although the new theory does not completely rule out the effects of such a "nuclear winter," it says the hours just after the 6-mile-wide asteroid struck the Earth were the most critical in the destruction of the dinosaurs.¨

Quartz in the cave. Cuarzo en la cueva (Is photography a representational art?)

This is not a picture of a quartz, but rotating it and passing the image through smooth filters, I´ve seen a quartz inside the walls of an ancient cave. I´m interested on this type of exercises of taking a photograph and try to see if there is something else I can achieve from the original. That brings us the question if Photography is a representational art or not.

¨It does not matter, therefore, how many aesthetic intentions underlie the act of photography. It does not matter that the subject, its environment, activity, or light are all consciously arranged. The real question is, What has to be done to make the resulting image into a representation? There are images which are representations (paintings) and images which are not (mirrors). To which class does a photograph belong? I have argued that it naturally belongs to the latter class. Photography can be made to belong to the former class by being made into the principal vehicle of the representational thought. But one must then so interfere with the relation between the  photograph and its subject that it ceases to be a photograph of its subject. Is that not enough to show that it is not just my ideal of photography which fails to be a mode of representation, but also that representation can never be achieved through photograph alone?¨

Horizon in the sea. Horizonte en el mar

As the horizon, this picture has no end, it can continue on the sides, above, below. Just to reflect the idea of infiniteness and play with colors.
